Outlaw Pete 2,224
I just looked up. One of those things of fate. God alone knows what goes past here whilst my eyes are reading what you've written. Or I'm typing some shit myself. Couple of minutes ago though, I was gazing out the window ..... Oh, look! There's Pat! White shirt shining in the sun shine. Does he never stop? Flash of white / grey. Is that a wood pigeon? (Automatic, unconscious answer from the brain? 'Don't be a c**t! Get the wing action on it!') Bolt upright. Plot it's likely flight path. Lock On!!! There it goes!!! No more a woodie than I am! You f**king beauty!!! Look at the wings on this muvva fukka! And then, the Salute! As, at 200 yards in crystal clear sunlight, this beautiful creature turns and shows me, full on, his black primaries! I have f**king tears in my eyes as I type this! Probably twice a year I get to see this. What a f**king privilege!

Outlaw Pete 2,224
You're not going to believe this, Sussex. But, five minutes ago I'd just put my chops 'n chips on. I rinsed my hands and reached for the towel. That made me face the upper glazed back door ..... Flash!!! F**king male sparrow hawk shot by!!! If it comes in threes, I'd best watch out for the Gos' or f**king Osprey next!

Malt 379
Lucky Enough Too See Hen Harriers Regulary , There Is A Lot Here Same As Choughs Another Bird Some Struggle To See . Saw my first choughs a few years back, just after I moved. I remember some holidaymaking twitchers asking us had we seen any crow like birds with red legs once when we were kids and mooching about the cliff path one day. Apparently they were the crown jewels of bird watching to this pair, rare as rocking horse shite! Always kept my eye out on the cliffs from that day on and never saw one there. Moved here to the other side of the county about 3 years ago, went for a walk across a beach just down the road and suddenly noticed there was loads of them on the cliffs and circling overhead by the time I got to the end of it! Outlaw Pete 2,224
Pest, as I call her, is in the kitchen, licking 'her' log. (The one I chop their meat up on. She likes that ) I, meanwhile, have been consulting my records. White Tailed Sea Eagle? 19th Dec. 1999. Cockley Cley, Norfolk. That was the young bird. Flown in from f**k knows where. I'll never forget throwing the door of the motor open ~ some good soul who'd given us a lift down from Titchwell ~ only to have it missed by about a millimetre by someone passing at a around 60mph! I threw myself out the motor. Ripped the legs of the tripod apart. Eye to eyepiece. Shit myself!!! That Bad Baby came over the pine trees like a flying double decker bus! I Genuinely had this horrible feeling that it was coming to get me! It was just SO F**king Huge! 3rd of June, 2000. Isle of Sky. Saw my first Golden Eagles. I was there with the Lee Evans tour. Watched Sea Eagles appear, absolutely bang on time, the next day. Lee just looked at his watch. Said, " They'll be over in twenty minutes. " Stretched out and went to sleep! Twenty minutes later, we marvelled as they flew over! Love him or hate him, according to which bollocks you may read on the net, the guy's incredible. I base that opinion on having known him as a friend and 'Twitched' with him on numerous occasions
Outlaw Pete 2,224
Choughs? South Stacks. Anglesey. Same day as I ticked my first and only UK Hooded Crow. There was ~ then ~ this solitary bird living there. Took my breath away. Possibly even more so than the choughs. Now? Seeing a 'Gray Crow' just fills me with anger! I despise those f**king things on the same, visceral level as cats and mink!
Malt 379
Saw my first golden eagle up the highlands a few years go. We were on the way to Loch Ness from Aberdeen via the scenic route, and I just stopped the car and tried videoing it. Got it on film but it's crap! I was there watching it for about 10 minutes, the wife asked if we'd ever manage to get to Loch Ness at one point! She had a bit of a point though, we'd already stopped a few miles down the road so I could look at my first ever wild red deer!

We watch one soaring and thing; Must be a buzzard. Could be an eagle though ..... Then we see an eagle. Game F**king Over!!! Would I be far wrong in guessing you're referring to that 'Comedian' who latterly appeared with the same name? I must admit; I've never seen nor heard that guy performing. I've just caught the name because it happens to match that of my old mate.

That's it mate, it was just another bird sat on a post until it unfolded those wings and took off! I'll try getting the footage off the camera in the week, it will give me something to to. It's shit quality but you can still see what it is in the distance, the wings are a dead give away.
